hey, before i get into this, i wanna say that
a few blogs ago, when i said
the gal's started calling me hon again
that didn't mean beth.
other gal entirely, thank you.
not that anyone was confused, but it's good to have things clear.
okay.
on with this.
today was dan's dad's funeral.
triste on many levels, it was.
it was in a really pretty (and huge) church
with a gigantic (and huge) pipe organ.
i think it was the only funeral i've seen that was
what a funeral says it's supposed to be.
a celebration of the person's life
rather than let's all get together and sob now.
i've only been to one other one though, i think.
beth cried again
i kinda wish i had
we were talking about that after the wake
see, what it is...
i feel bad for not feeling bad enough
but more than that, i'd kinda like to be that emotional.
as though i'm missing something by not being so
like i'm not a full-fledged person.
anyway, being as he'd been a cop, there was a piper and 21 gun salute.
not inside the church, no.
don't be ridiculous.
i kinda think we all shoulda gone up to get the eucharist
at least so beth wouldn't have had to go up alone
i was gonna ask if we were all going up, so i could get out of the way,
and let phil and beth out, but i ended up staying
i crushed my hat.
i was wringing it in my hands, i think in lieu of crying.
that term's worth a quarter!
ah well, i can only look to the fact that no matter what i do
i'm going to kick myself for something
not because it was wrong necessarily
but because i put too much pressure on myself
and i just won't stop it.
and the funny thing about it is, i still get nothing done
because the pressure is not anyplace productive
it just tells me i suck.
you know, when i do sitework
i do a bunch of it
prolly cause it builds up, eh?
beth and i had a conversation yesterday that phil wouldn't believe
had he heard it.
it was about how great phil is.
i think they're both great
together and as individuals.
and we all hope that the next time we meet
that it will be in a better environment
we all hugged dan again
and he us
it's nice to see, it really is.
i feel really bad about getting dirt in beth's mom's car.
i did knock the crud out of my shoes, i did i did.
but it was that damn soupy kind of there's dirt in the water stuff
i'm sorry.
noone's brought it up but i feel bad.
i hope beth doesn't get in trouble or anything.
as soon as i noticed, i kept my feet raised above the floor of the car for the rest of the ride home. over a plastic bag, which my feet woulda been on in the first place, but i was sitting on the opposite side of the car from it. i think i've grown way too slow at-
what's that thing?
oh yeah, thinking.
i can still recite a bunch of the stuff they do in church
i didn't and don't, i'm just saying i know it.
bleh.
