weezer's on 9/25
went to the bingo tonight
the whole family was going
and i need the money for ireland
of course, i won nothing
but came within 2 numbers of doing so very often
very frustrating.
coulda won $500 dollars.
anyway, that ain't so bad.
didn't really expect to win anyway.
i learned 2 new card games today
international and hearts
at least i can win more change from aunties
that'll go towards ireland
speaking of ireland, which i seem to be
i'm reading james joyce now
(i finished kerouac's the subterraneans last night-
it be the 2nd kerouac in a row
and i woulda been 3, if i hadn't asked dan
and he hadn't emphatically said joyce-
dan has read both, and anyway, i trust his opinion on books-
anyway, i just woulda picked kerouac's big sur
to have the old, sad kerouac finished with
so i can get back to the exuberant young one-
but that's another story)
-more actually, someone else's introduction to his book
dubliners
and it already makes me long to go
it'll be great, i can feel it
land o' at least *some* of my ancestors
somehow the bits i feel most akin to
even before the vastly pro-irish influences of otherdan
who was only half himself
his family, especially his father
(now deceased, i wrote about it here after the funeral)
made a sort of pilgrimage there at least once a year
and i really think
eventhough i haven't been yet
that that is what i too want to do
must go, anime on tv.
