don't you want me baby?
don't you want me, ooooohhhhhhhh!
hey, don't blame me, blame sting
it's *his* karaoke song, as he said on conan last night
well, it was by the human league, i think
so blame them
i find 80's music so amusing, don't you?
in case you haven't noticed, there's a new template up
i was torn between a few, but i finally got tired of arguing
and picked the one that looked like it would taste good
it might get changed, it might not...
depends on how lazy i get
anyway...
so yesterday, i randomly im-ed an ex-girlfriend of mine
posing to her the question i pose here
id est- why can't dick cheney ever have an *effective* heart attack?!
and she seemed to get through the weirdness ok (we haven't talked in a year)
but apparently, i picked the wrong time to randomly talk to her
and not expect to hear from her the next day or anything
you know, cause it's weird, and i felt bad for im-ing her in the first place
so today, she talks to me, and is all angry
and asks me why i talked to her as if nothing had changed
(NOTE- random as i was being, i never was under any pretense that nothing had changed)
and why boys are so dumb
which i handle nicely, peaceful guy that i am
so later, she says she's sick of talking to boys lately
and i was going to offer to leave her alone
(for a little bit, i was debating asking why, you know, because i'm nice like that, but i thought it best not to, then i had the problem of how to word it so she wouldn't take it wrong)
then, before i get a chance to say it, she offers to leave me alone!
which i readily agreed to, because let's face it, i don't need that.
not at all. and i doubt i'll be talking to her anytime soon.
quite fine with me, it's too weird, i feel bad, and i don't need her getting all angry with me
because i derailed her train somehow
somehow, i think it was already off the tracks
if i did anything, it was merely inebriate the brakeman
who wouldn't have done any good anyway
derailed trains are like that, you see. not prone to the stoppin.
but she did apologize, so i guess it's alright.
i'm up way too late now.
i should have been in bed a couple hours ago.
but it's not like i don't have a pattern going.
i wake up between 9 and 11
stay in bed thinking "i'll stay awake"
then that goes wrong somehow til later
every day this week, at least.
ugh. just ugh. i mean, it's not as if i don't learn.
obviously, if i know what's going on, i could fix it
but i don't think *anyone* wants to get up the first time
except to prevent this sort of thing from happening
i finished the triangle and robert archives!
hooray!
now i just have pokey to finish
then i can work on some other archive ^_^
speaking of finished, i read the rest of "pomes all sizes" the other night
i think i'm going to go for "visions of cody" now
i think i have more kerouac to go through than any of the other authors there
so i wanna do one right away
besides, the back says something about the style being kinda like "the new journalism" 15 years early
i'm interested in that, cause i might want to take journalism
maybe i could make my own sort of journalism
or unwittingly be like someone really cool
who knows? but it's not like i'm set on what i wanna do for life yet
i just figure that journalism is pretty universal
so that i could get a job wherever i happened to be
and not have to ask if someone wants fries with something
truly, that would be crap.
hehe, i can tear down hypocrisy and other such elements of evil
(*cough*REPUBLICANS!*cough*)
all over the place. i like that, cause it allows for travel
and i don't plan on staying here
and becoming one of those people who never leaves cumberland except on vacation
i mean, eventhough my family is like that, and it ain't such a bad place
i wanna get out
i wanna be out, living
people here get stuck. they grow up here.
they meet someone from here. they have kids that will end up going to cumberland high.
and the cycle goes on.
and already, i feel stuck in it, but i don't want to be.
i wanna travel the world, and get educated, and not be some stupid guy.
i wanna be the fabled beautiful swan, but i think i'm too busy tripping on eggshells.
(lovely metaphor, table one)
i'm so tired.
tired of a lot of things.
right now, it's mostly not having gotten any sleep for quite a while
man, am i tired of *that* crap! *shakes fist*
so i'll go to bed now.
good night.
