i'm wearing makeup and nailpolish
i did both myself
which isn't so unusual for the nailpolish
but i've never really done my own makeup before
it took me awhile to get everything set
but i did it, and the girls said i did a good job
so i'm happy

so anyway, here's how the day went-

i began the day by waking up

...

indeed

then there was some time filled with telly
and i noticed the most awesome channel today
see we're getting a preview of digital cable
and this week, it's the international channel
so far, i've only seen an indian gameshow and a couple japanese shows
but the japanese shows, they have terrible lip synch
that is, unless they're shows from someplace else in asia, and dubbed
and i'm just guessing at the japanese part
but the visual quality is poor
so that everything kind of reminds you of dark shadows
incedentally, the first thing i saw was a show called
"shadows in the dark"
anyway, after that, beth called and told me a couple things
those being the time i'd be picked up
and that she and sarah were dressin up
and i could too if i wanted
that's when the entire makeup thing started
i had wanted to be in a dress
and i even found one that i thought i could use
and knew how i would get out of the house wearing one
but my sister was watching tv in that very room
so there was no getting it
so i just went in my prom clothes
with a derby and my sunglasses
you know, to hide the makeup from my family
and to kinda make it a surprise for the gang
ian was with us tonight, which was cool, i haven't seen him for a while
we went to johnny rocket's (50's diner) and while ian was getting change
you got the full scope of how very gay his shirt was
and it was hilarious
sarah wondered who did my makeup
so i guess it *was* pretty good

then sarah said go bowling
someplace with the big balls
and lauren, due to her digust for bowling shoes
asked that there be pool tables at the place we went
therein lies the trouble
oh yes indeed
because every place we tried had either an enormous wait
or you had to be 21 to get in
so we ended up sitting in a bowling alley trying to figure out what to do
and we decided that we'd go to sarah's place
but in the car, we figured out that we wouldn't really have much time to do anything before sarah would have wanted to go to bed, so we just called it a night
which i didn't mind
i was fine with driving around
i got some good hanging out time out of it
that's all i really need, when it comes down to it

gosh, i have the best friends.
^_^

today is sarah's birfday!
hooray!

but it's raining.
boo on rain. for today anyway. i like rain.
well, at least i get to hang out with my friends today.
now i'm just waiting to gets a call tellin me when i'm gonna get picked up and stuff.
i don't mind, gives me a chance to try doing a comic, maybe read some, watch telly
you know, the usual stuffs.

i might take off the one eye and reposition it
that is, if i look at it soon and decide that i don't wanna let it go like that
i don't really want to do the yarn through the buttonhole thing again
it sucked for that button, but i will if i feel so inclined
i mean, it *is* a present, so it should look nice
maybe i will
if i wasn't incredibly bad at making a tie
i would have redone the one i made phil
though i can't imagine that it would have helped much
he liked it just the same
what a good guy

anyway, i think it's time to go do something else.

happy birfday sarah!

i finally finished sarah's puppety thing yesterday
it turned out pretty well.
at least *i* think so, i've not had anyone else's opinion on it yet.
anyway, the puppet's better than i expected it would be.
mostly because i had a crochet epiphany one day while writing a mail to beth that i later scrapped cause i realized i had nothing to say. anyway, i realized that instead of sewing the mouth bits to the main part, and trying to make this one thing with a space for the beak, i should crochet on the mouth bits, and work from there to do the back of the head. see, that way, it's more put together, less prone to falling apart. not only that, but if i'd tried it the other way, i would have had to make some odd shape that would have ended up looking a lot worse than it did.
tiny buttonholes are not fun things to try to get yarn through. the smaller button made the first piece of yarn i used on it to unravel, cause i was only able to pull one of the strands of it through. i got it the second time, though. i was muy determined to finish it before sarah's birthday.
well, more than that, i wanted to finish it that night.
and i did.
yay me.

beth was just on, and told me what the plans were for sarah's birfday!
hooray! i know something now!
i'm glad, cause it woulda sucked to have missed that.
i get to hang out with the gang! yay!

i've been reading walden today.
at the rate i'm going, i won't finish it today
but i'll prolly get into the middle of the next section
i'm already in the middle of this one.

yeah. so i'm gonna go read now.
maybe i'll do a comic later, i dunno.

a job opened up at the deli in the store across the street
i went for that
it's only a couple nights a week, which is good cause i am lazy
but i don't think i'll get it eventhough i've worked there before and my mom works there
that's okay, i've been there on nights when people have cut their fingers
and i don't relish the thought of doing so
no pun intended
and if i had, that's a stretch

today is lauren's birfday.
friday is sarah's
and i still have no idea how to make the duck-thing
ugh

i should do a comic
it's been so long

the day before yesterday, we went to cindy's (cindy is my dad's friend, we've just taken to calling her kids our cousins, i'm not sure why). cause it was ashley's birthday. crap, how many people were born this stinkin month! anyway, we played smashy, cause we stopped here on our way to the mall. when we actually went to the mall, we saw this adorable little girl wearing paper bunny ears, and i said we should get some and i ended up asking the fat guy by the easter bunny (\ho was out already, despite easter not being until next month) if we could have some. so then we were walking around with bunny ears all day. we went to see if any of my friends were working. no maria, but meg and tim were working (and the girl in afterthoughts wanted to know where we got the ears). some secret shoppy lady was being a complete bitch to meg. then meg told me that tim (her boyfriend) was working at the coffee place, so we went there and i got a free coffee, cause tim's cool like that. and we talked about accordions. he doesn't play, but he wants to.
speaking of accordions, more and more often, if i hear something i like, i'll try to figure it out on mine. which i used to do before, but now it's more like the accordion is my main instrument, rather than the guitar.

anyway, you know, even if i don't get the deli thing, i feel more like i can find a job now.

i still blame gerard stiles for. um. stuff.
he's all like "i'm ugly! mwahahahahaha!"
someone should seriously just kill him.
and that jerk lamar trask.

ah, dark shadows references...

it would be really funny if they actually said stuff about themselves being terribly unattractive.

123 pages left in walden.
i tried to put this stuff in a post, but it sounds so horribly pathetic.
here it's not so bad.
i think once i have something that is truly of interest to update on in my life, that i shall do so.

the black car, which is now mine, runs.
like a hacking cough, so i'm told, but it runs.
there's some gear in it that's missing a tooth.
i helped put that exhaust manifold back on
at least i think that's what it was.
this was the same day as the mall, by the way.

lauren is looking for an apartment to share with al
al is all like "i won't be able to help with rent for a while"
he doesn't quite get that lauren can't do it all herself
then, he *is* from pennsylvania
just cows and chocolate where he's from, pretty much.
she found one, but the guy would want someone to move in early in april
and the deposit is 900 bucks.
she's going to see it, and if she really likes it, then she's gonna find a way to get the money
and all that jazz.
blah blah blah.

i think i'll go read.
