until lauren and i watch the tape
at which point, it's free to be taped over
though i'd kinda like to keep it for a while
if i'm not tired tomorrow night for cowboy bebop
i won't tape it
so that i can keep buffy around a little more
though i donno if i'll feel the same after
i've watched it with lauren
caue that's the 2nd time
and there'll be nothing left that i've missed

speaking of lauren, we both have black fingernails
because she felt like buying some black nailpolish
and i was around
not such a fan of black for my nails
actually, i have yet to find "my color"

scans of comics are still there
being done nothing to
i never said that the ball i got rolling
moved very fast
because it doesn't
but on the upside most of them look good
like clean-up will be pretty easy
the first one's a bitch though
cause it's on the outside
and gets beat up more often than not
so it'll be an involved thing to fix

i should go make a copy of my social security card
for my dad to send to the state
and my typing is being all weird
has been for a while
not me, the computer
or keyboard, or something
but it's working well enough

when they're re-showing the musical episode of buffy
not that i couldn't work my way around it, but it'd be
fun to not have to, you know?)

i have achieved something today!
oh yes!
i have scanned my first 10 comics
and now they are ready to be cleaned
and saved as jpegs and put on the web
it's a start, anyway

the early comics aren't the best
but they have their moments
and i didn't have my so-called "sea legs" yet
but now i do, since the comic is really good
well, compared to some, it is gutter crud
but in and of itself, it's come a long way
and compared to some others i've seen
it's skillfully done, and cleverly written
there are definitely worse ones out there
i know because i've seen some at keenspace
hey, they have loose standards
that's not a bad thing
may be the only way i get some space

later, i can come up with merchandise
and make business cards for the comic
and, as bob and mike had done
give one to tmbg
though i still plan to make a cd for them
but i'm wary of the whole cd thing
which is to say, i donno how it'll work out
but i'll try it eventually
and then i'll see

so i've got that ball rolling
now i've got to get other ones rolling
which means get a job and all that
much more daunting than scanning comics
which, by the way, i've decided to do
in 10 comic increments
since i have this time
and it's a number that allows
me to get a lot out of the way
(it'd take me maybe 8 times
to get them all scanned as of now)
also, it doesn't add *too* much stuff to my computer
and doesn't make my scanner
(which makes my computer awfully cranky)
do too much work, either

my sister got stuck in traffic
on my mom's birthday, that is
so there was no getting together
ah well, no problem
not like there was anything i could do

i was dreadfully tired last night
and i was like "hooray, i'll finally sleep at night!"
cause i've been weird with that lately
then all of a sudden, i wasn't tired
second wind, as they say
and i knew right then there'd be no sleep for me
and i don't think there was
dammit

and not eating enough at all
somehow, i manage to eat in the morning
and not eat again til the evening
probably due to having fallen asleep
and awakened as hungry as something
that hasn't eaten all damn day
i'm not worried, because i'm still alive
and nothing is falling off or anything

went food shopping yesterday
bought lots of things
including 2 packs of cup noodles
that come with hello kitty stickers
(speaking of animated cats from japan
i enjoy what i've seen of tama and friends
so it's safe to watch that now)

yesterday, beth told me about
the most awesome site

books abound
and cheaply, too
if only i had a credit card
oh my...

i've been thinking of updating my site
as i haven't in about a year, i'd say
just put whatever comics up that i've got around
and plan from there
i might even get a bit of keenspace soon
oddest thing
well, not the oddest thing, i guess, but not normal

eventhough the site is supposedly dead and gone
which i haven't checked on yet
cause i scarcely think of it

dan has given me an idea
and that is to try writing a song a day
as he is trying to do
well, 3, he's trying
but he only usually gets the one or none
and when i'm not faced with actually doing it
it sounds like the best idea ever
but when it comes down to it
i usually think any idea i'm having is dumb
and don't even bother writing
damn, huh?
it's like a catch 22
i won't write if it doesn't seem good
but without practice, i'll never get good
dan himself is doing this to
grease the wheels

on a kinda related note-
phil is a lot more ok with dan being in comics
than i would ever have guessed
so maybe that'll help me finish some old storylines
and all that sort of thing
i haven't had him in one for a while
cause the comic is a reflection of things as they are
and dan hasn't been in the gang for some time now
it's not like he's just some character that
i can flippantly do what i want with
like the leprechauns or the mole people
not that i don't do strange things with actual people
like henry david thoreau
but he's long-dead
and i don't know him personally
it's just different, you know?

anyway, i'm trying to plan out what to do
like, insofar as what to put up first
i suppose i should do them in order
but it'll take a lot of cleaning them up
though there's a lot of empty space in the really early ones
so i suppose they'll be easy enough
and people can feed off of them
as i'm doing the ultra-hard-to-clean ones
eventually, i'll get to the ones that don't need cleaning
and then i will be happiest of all
because it'll be a lot less work
a *lot* less, lemme tell ya
so soon i should start scanning and cleaning the early ones
put some up on my current site
because that needs an update
and when i've got a sufficient number of the earlier ones done
i'll go see about some keenspace
(i was thinking about it recently
and i think they'd wanna see an example or two of your work
before giving you space anyway
so having some up there would be handy)

and just use the pagebuilder bob told me they have there
until i actually learn a good amount of html
and can make a site that kicks your ass
at which point i will
it'll be a lot of work
but when people are reading the later comics
it'll be worth it
because those are the better-drawn
and i'd say funnier ones
plus, they're what current comics look like
so that's a plus
and i think that at least the listees
would be willing to hang in there
through the old ones to get to the new
not that i won't have to say please a couple times for that
except to the ones that i talk to most often
though i'll say it to them anyway
and they'd all hang in there to see the ones
that involve tmbg anyway
at least i'd think they would

they didn't have another tape
you know, to exchange
cause it's gotta be the same
so they had to order one
and i bought the 3rd tape too

as is to be expected
and thankfully nothing was wrong with it
so yay for that

and it's 4, but my sister is supposed to be home soon
hopefully, she'll bring kyle, her boyfriend
because he's supposed to be going too
and when i go upstairs after i'm done blogging

at least enough to drive to the store
then to the mall
and back
and hopefully enough to get through
tonight's festivities at the casino

got stoned night before last
while hanging with chris and lauren
again
jeez, do i not want to see them for a couple days

if whitney tells lauren about
what happened to her while she was gone

for not many discernible reasons

anyway, drove around for like 3 hours, smoked
and then went to lauren's for another hour
then they went to sleep on the couch
but i wasn't tired
mind too abuzz with activity
couldn't stop thinking if i tried
which i did for about another hour
then i sat around for an hour about
waiting for them to get up
eventually, i just left
cut out, got some coffee and 2 donuts

yesterday, spent the day being really really tired
not having slept since the day before
and last night slept nicely
until like 2am
and then woke up
tried to get back to sleep
ended up just making macaroni and cheese
and doing laundry
which reminds me i need to
get my clothes into the dryer

maybe mall today
but i doubt it
being my mom's birthday
and i might go watch dad play softball
cause it's the last game, i think

wish i'd gotten some more sleep, though
know i'll be tired later today
am a little now
but i do feel rested, too
it's weird
and i had a dream half about a girl
and i can't remember what she looked like
but i think she was just something i dreamed up
at least i don't think it was anyone i actually know
the other half was probably about something too
but i don't remember that anymore than the half
that was about the girl
which strikes me as mildly amusing

in case i failed to mention
dan, kevin, and tim thornton
are a band now
called the nuggetts
i don't know if the extra t is actually there
or just dan's bad spelling
(some things never change)
and i know the when and where
of their first gig
and i will hope that lauren wants to go
because she will be my ride, i've decided
because none of my other friends would work
you know, that whole thing
anyway, i think i'll ask her now
eventhough i don't feel much like talking
cause time is of the essence, sort of
i mean, it *is* on the 16th
which is neither terribly far away
