well, first off, i *did* sit down with a pen and paper
and i think that i did a little doodle of something or another
but no writing, which sucks
so i'm trying to get to a point where i feel like writing
or at least feel like i could do something
what i do
and i realize this, but still do it
is put too much pressure on myself to be perfect right away
eventhough i haven't written in ages
and anything i write is bound not to be perfect right away
as it is with anyone
i think i'll do it again soon, though
and should continue to until i get things going again
what i should really do is get a job.
see, what i was thinking
i could get a job now
save money
then go to school in the summer
let's face it, i'll prolly not be asked to go to canada this year anyway
everyone's grown all apart
so i really don't hafta be here
i think that...
i need a drink.
no, i *know* i need a drink (well, could really use one, anyway).
what i *think* is that i'll use the money for my new car
(see, cause my folks were planning on gettin me a car,
when there is a free one sitting right in the driveway)
to pay for parts of my schooling.
i'd like to think that i'll be able to do the harvard thing
if i only learn my way around places
and things of that nature
what i need is self-confidence in a bottle
or a pill of some sort
though ideally it would be in a candy
delicious, delicious candy
unfortunately...
ah well, i'll get by
i guess there's not much choice in the matter, eh?
i'd have the same problem with ric or uri or pc
mostly that i don't have a car, and know nothing about anywhere
except ccri.
but see, it's community college of ri vs. what is basically harvard community college.
a bit more expensive, but it *is* harvard, and i have nothing else going for me
so the question is posed
do i go study at the place that has taught such people as
conan o'brien, william s. burroughs, and. um. i *know* there's at least one more person who i'm into that went to harvard that makes me wanna go there.
of course, the fact that dan's dad went there, and he was very supportive of the idea, and i believe was the one that had them send a booklet to me. the guy was great.
and from what i gathered, he ate a lot of spaghetti.
cause, ya see, usually when i was over, he'd be around, heating up a plate of spaghetti
he'd always offer us some (otherdan and i, that is)
man, i loved those late night comic drawing sessions
i miss them
of course, then all his kids went to harvard too
otherdan included (well, he's currently attending)
and you know, there ain't a one of them that i don't admire to some degree
though i've only ever really talked with dan
you know, him being my friend and all.
this is not to say he's a saint, which he isn't
like anyone, he's done wrong, and he's done right
but i can tell you that he's a good guy
and he can seemingly always write
which is damn something
and i suppose blogging could count, but i don't wanna count it
i hope he writes a lot in ireland
i think he could really get a lot done
especially songs
which i can't write
which sucks
it'll do him good to go.
you know, i was looking at an irish coin that lauren gave me on new year's eve at her party
it was an x-mas present, since she was, and still is supremely broke
and staring at that harp, i felt like i was looking at someplace i came from
and someplace i should be
which is true enough, being part irish.
one can only imagine, being proudly irish as dan's family is
what it feels like for them to go.
must be nice.
dan's only half irish himself
so i guess it's not so freakish that i feel that way about it
i shore did get most, if not all of the irishness that my family had to offer
somehow that makes me feel better
anyway, back to the harvard thing
i think that i should go
it's not just an opportunity now
it's like honoring the dead
certainly, it's impetus
my sweater has holes in it.
would still find a drink rather handy.
my cap'n crunch is all soggy
i guess if he'd spend less time hanging with volcano cratures
and more time fighting the soggies
that wouldn't have happened
what a jerk.
